Venky's Rasam


Cook 1/4 cup mung or tuvar dal well

Add 1/4 teaspoon tamarind paste, tomatoes, two spoons chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon tumeric, salt, asfoetida, fresh coriander
Cook well

Add four cups water.

When it comes to the boil, add fried mustard seed
